Gabriela Mandescu is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Music from Bucharest, Romania were she received full scholarship for high achievement in violin performance. She is a recipient of the Master’s degree program of Temple University where she was awarded a full assistantship, and she obtained her teaching degree from Rowan University where she was awarded full scholarship. Gabriela won a number of competitions as a chamber musician and performed internationally with many orchestras including Radio National Chamber Orchestra, Giurgiu Symphony, Symphony in C (former Haddonfield Symphony), Reading Symphony, Delaware Symphony, Pottstown Symphony, Lancaster Symphony, Bay-Atlantic Symphony, “The Philly Pops” and Bel Canto Opera Company.

While at Temple University Gabriela was under the tutelage of world famous violinist Helen Kwalwasser and world renowned violinist Michael Ludwig, soloist and former Philadelphia Orchestra associate concertmaster. Gabriela had served as Concertmistress under the baton of Louis Biava, the assistant conductor for Philadelphia Orchestra and was 1st violin with" Temple String Quintet." She performed numerous concerts and recitals and one of the highlights include "RECONSTRUCTING BEETHOVEN" chamber concert in NEW YORK CITY. Gabriela had the great privilege to be featured in Michael Bolton’s video clip "El Dia Que Me Quieras".
Aside from her success on the classical arena, Gabriela had collaborated with a number of stars such as Frank Sinatra Jr., Josh Groban, Jackie Evanco, Sir. Elton John, Michael Bolton, world renowned violinist Hilary Hahn to just name a few.
Currently, Gabriela is performing with Bel-Canto Opera Company, Philly Pops, Broadway Shows in Philadelphia theaters, most recently at the Borgata and Tropicana in Atlantic City. She is the founder of “TiAmo Strings”, a group that performs extensively in the Tri-state area. She is an avid teacher in the South Jersey area and Strings Specialist here at Cherry Hill High School East and Beck Middle School. She is also one of the judges for All South Jersey and All State Orchestra Auditions for the past 15 years.
